Does anyone know anything about an abandoned motel, horse back riding stable, store and other buildings. Its on Route 40 in Utah, just before the Colorado/Utah border. Its on both sides of the road, and both sides are fenced in. The sign for the motel was well work, but I think it says Willy's Resort Motel.
Dinosaur was formerly known as Artesia. The town was renamed in 1965 to promote the local archeological phenomena and tourism. If one peruses the maps along I-40 west of Dinosaur, the only thing that appears as you describe is a collection of buildings about a mile west of Dinosaur, but a mile inside Colorado. Looks about right for a motel/resort and riding stable located to take advantage of this supposed tourist boom. I'll bet you that's what you saw. Try Google Earth. May be too remote. I couldn't get it to work for me this a.m. Good luck. Hope this helps. If I really wanted to check that out, I'd call me a knowledgeable local on my free long distance cell phone. OJ
