    Default Washington State

Any great towns in Washington state where I can travel to?
I am going near Moses Lake/Spokane in a few weeks, but really ANYWHERE in WA state that is deserted I am highly interested in exploring.

Most of the towns I have found seem to be now revamped/inhabited.

    Any advice is appreciated .

Other than former GT "sites" which have been reduced to rubble, completely deserted ghost towns with habitable buildings are very rare.

Here in CA for example, Bodie is about the only one that fits the description. However 6-7 Park Rangers DO reside there year-round to answer questions and stop vandalism.

But exploring old historic towns or mining camps is still very much worthwhile even if there are some residents. Sometimes these old residents can point out historic features that could otherwise easily be missed.

Up in NE Washington, is 6 ghost towns: Curlew, Republic, Orient, Northport, Marble, & Bossburg.

Check the Wash page on this site. It has GT's listed by county, and you can check the map to see where a county is located. Also several towns have been updated, as to the remains etc.

    First off...Welcome to the forum!!!

Secondly...the upper 4 counties in Washington have ghost towns all through them, though the wife and I have only been through Okanogan County ourselves for the past 3 trips and still haven't seen it all. It has the most in ghost towns, we think. Also, check Ferry, Stevens, and Pend Orielle Counties on the web site map. http://www.ghosttowns.com/ (Click on the "USA/Canada Map" and then click on "Washington State".)

    This may help too. http://www.ghosttownsusa.com

Bad Bob has some GREAT info.

Enjoy your trip and have fun!!!
