Great idea for a thread. I love dead cars! I have lots of photos, but not uploadable right now.

It seems that other than buildings, one of the primary relics found at ghost towns are the vehicles left behind by the residents. Of course, it doesn't require finding an abandoned community to find derelict vehicles.
As a result, I've taken up the hobby of finding and taking pictures of there old relics, and I thought I'd go ahead and share a few of what I've come across.
1971 Ford LTD near Issaquah, Washington:
1954 DeSoto at an abandoned farm in Renton, Washington:
1956 Buick and 1959 Ford in Satsop, Washington:
GMC truck in Garibaldi, Oregon:

Steve: Great picture. I swear at least half of that generation of Chevy trucks made are now sitting in fields in various locations around the country.
Here are a few more I've got:
Unknown early thirties car near Rosburg, Washington:
1957 Chevrolet near the ghost town of Altoona, Washington:
1949 Chrysler near Marblemount, Washington:

I agree, vehicles are usually always left near old ghost towns.
Some I've found over the years:
Old truck front end found north central NV:
Old water tank truck central NV:
Remains of a truck frame, central NV:
Old car, central NV:

And, of course, Old Car Central, near the town of Sulphur, NV:

And last, but not least, the Scene of the Crime: here's where my son got his Felony Jack Rabbit summer 2008.
If you know where to look, this vehicle is visible from Google Earth, so it's been there a couple years. Since this location is miles from anywhere, whoever stole it and left it must have either had another vehicle to ride or walked a lot to get back to civilization.
Not really a ghost town vehicle, but interesting nontheless.

That BMW has seen happier days, eh?
It would be cool to be able to salvage some of those wrecks, but without the ability to get legal title to them it wouldn't be a good idea.
The good thing is that those wrecks are a glimpse into the past, just like the old ore cars we find at old mines. Let future generations see what once was.
Albin: Great pictures. Nevada seems to be a treasure trove of half-dismembered old cars.
As proof, here are a few more from Silver City, Nevada.
1949 Buick Super:
Pile of various cars:
1950 Cadillac:
1962 Ford Country Squire:
